Job Title: Senior BI Engineer – Power BI

Position Overview:

As a Senior BI Engineer specializing in Power BI, you will be responsible for designing and developing interactive dashboards, refining the semantic layer, and creating insightful reports that empower business users to make informed decisions. You will collaborate closely with stakeholders to understand requirements, translate them into technical solutions, and deliver high-quality BI solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in BI development, data visualization, and Power BI.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI, ensuring they meet business requirements and provide actionable insights.
• Refine the semantic layer by defining data models, relationships, and calculations to ensure consistency and accuracy in data analysis.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements, gather feedback, and iterate on dashboard designs and report layouts.
• Implement data governance, security, and compliance measures to protect sensitive information and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Optimize dashboard performance and usability by implementing best practices in data visualization, user experience design, and dashboard interactivity.
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior BI engineers, sharing best practices, techniques, and tools for effective dashboard design and development.
• Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in BI and analytics, and recommend opportunities for innovation and optimization.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 6 to 8 years of experience working in business intelligence, data visualization, and analytics, with a focus on Power BI.
• Extensive hands-on experience designing and developing interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI.
• Strong proficiency in data modelling, DAX, M, and Power Query, with the ability to refine the semantic layer and optimize data models for performance.
• Experience with data visualization best practices, user experience design, and dashboard interactivity.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver high-quality BI solutions on time and within budget.
