Senior Power BI Developer

Position Summary

The Senior Power BI Developer will be responsible for designing and developing interactive dashboards, reports, and data visualizations using Power BI. This role involves working closely with business stakeholders to understand their requirements, translating them into technical solutions, and ensuring data accuracy and performance. The ideal candidate will also mentor junior developers and contribute to best practices for data visualization and business intelligence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain Power BI reports, dashboards, and data visualizations.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Create complex DAX queries and calculations to support business needs.
• Integrate Power BI reports with various data sources, including SQL databases, Azure, and other cloud-based solutions.
• Optimize Power BI data models for performance and scalability.
• Implement data governance and best practices for data visualization.
• Perform data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights that support business decisions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Power BI reports and data integration.
• Mentor and guide junior Power BI developers, providing training and support as needed.
• Stay updated on the latest features and advancements in Power BI and related Microsoft technologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in developing Power BI solutions.
• Proficiency in DAX and Power Query (M) for data transformation and calculations.
• Strong experience in building and optimizing data models in Power BI.
• Hands-on experience with SQL and other data manipulation languages.
• Familiarity with data integration and ETL processes.
• Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and database design.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience working with cloud-based platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS) is a plus.

• Preferred Qualifications:
• Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate or similar certification.
• Experience with Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, or other cloud-based data integration tools.
• Familiarity with other BI tools such as Tableau or QlikView.
• Experience in agile development methodologies.
