Job Description

The department of Quality Engineering (under Technology) plays a crucial role in the software development process. This department is primarily responsible for ensuring that software products being developed within the Technology org at Turnitin meet or exceed predetermined quality standards.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Research and Analysis: Conduct thorough research on the latest trends, techniques, and methods used to bypass AI detection systems. Stay abreast of advancements in AI, machine learning, and cybersecurity fields.

  • Initiative and Self-Direction: Demonstrated ability to take initiative, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively without constant oversight. A self-starter who proactively identifies areas for improvement and acts to implement changes

  • Team Collaboration: Act as a central communication hub among team members, facilitating information flow between technical and non-technical departments to ensure everyone is aligned and informed.

  • Automation Strategy Development: Ability to provide clear guidelines to automation engineers on what processes and tests should be automated, including identifying high-ROI automation opportunities. 

  • Documentation: Meticulously document findings, including methods, tools, and strategies used to bypass AI detection mechanisms. Prepare comprehensive reports that detail vulnerabilities, potential threats, and impact assessments.

  • Data Analysis: Aggregate, organize, and analyze data for AI Detection projects

  • Solution Development: Work closely with AI developers, Data Scientists, and Product Managers to identify data trends and insights related to AI solutions.

  • Training and Guidance: Provide training sessions and create guidance documents for team members on recognizing and responding to new bypass techniques.

  • Continuous Improvement: Regularly review and update documentation and communication strategies to ensure they remain effective and relevant to current needs.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, mathematics, or statistics.

  • 3+ years of experience are in a position which includes data collection and analysis

  • 6+ years of functional testing experience with web applications.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in Statistical Data Analysis, predictive modeling and explanatory modeling to identify trends. 

  • Working knowledge of Excel or Google Sheets including formulas.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify potential vulnerabilities.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey technical information in an accessible manner to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Experience with documenting technical findings, creating reports, and maintaining clear and accurate records.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.

  • Experience leading teams supporting test automation initiatives.

  • Experience in API testing.

  • Experience in Security testing.

  • Experience with CI/CD systems similar to Jenkins.

  • Nice to have: The ideal candidate should be capable of analyzing complex datasets to identify patterns, trends, and anomalies related to AI detection bypass techniques. This skill will greatly enhance our team’s ability to understand the scope and impact of threats, thereby improving our AI systems’ detection capabilities and security measures.

  • Nice to have: Exposure to concepts of Machine Learning, AI content generation and related technologies.
