Join us! The GoFundMe team is searching for our next Senior Staff ML Engineer to help design and implement our next generation of machine learning and AI-based services. You will collaborate with an accomplished and motivated team of individuals to deliver high-impact solutions for our users and our business.

This is a remote position. Candidates considered for this role will be located in Argentina.

The Job…

  • Design and develop advanced machine learning models, model evaluation systems, and automated model training and deployment solutions.
  • Design and develop high throughput batch inferencing solutions as well as distributed, low latency real-time inferencing services.
  • Build efficient and robust systems to collect and prepare data for evaluation and model training.
  • Conduct research to identify, evaluate, and build features that improve model performance.
  • Evaluate and recommend opportunities to leverage data to grow the business and delight customers.
  • Collaborate with technical and nontechnical colleagues, including data scientists, engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders to drive the successful implementation of machine learning projects.
  • Coach and mentor other ML engineers and contribute to our culture of learning, innovation, and operational excellence.

You…

  • 9+ years of hands-on experience in machine learning, data science, and analytics with a consistent track record of successfully leading complex projects and deploying robust solutions into production environments.
  • Extensive knowledge of ML algorithms, including a deep understanding of statistical modeling, and Python development tooling and libraries (Pandas, Numpy, Scikit-learn, Pytest, PySpark, SQL, Airflow, MLflow, Hugging Face Transformers, Tensorflow or PyTorch).
  • Experience with LLMs, preferably including commercial solutions such as OpenAI API, Anthropic, AWS Bedrock, or open source models and frameworks like Hugging Face, LangChain, Llama-2, Falcon, Dolly, etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor ML engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to apply creative solutions to real-world challenges.
  • Comfortable experimenting with and incorporating cutting-edge techniques into our existing system.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • A Masters or Ph. D in Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science or related field is preferred.
  • Sense of humor (optional but appreciated).
