About the role:
As a Senior Subsurface Data Manager, you will own the strategic direction for subsurface data management, designing and implementing data structures, workflows, and procedures that align with business objectives. You’ll collaborate extensively with global teams across the US and Europe, ensuring robust data governance standards are met and data systems remain aligned across regions. This role will be instrumental in embedding data integrity into day-to-day operations, supporting key projects, and driving organizational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Governance and Strategy: Lead the development of data management best practices, defining and overseeing strategic data structures, standards, and procedures that enhance operational efficiency and data quality.
- Data Capture and Control: Ensure accurate data capture, control, and storage within critical repositories and systems (e.g., Petrel/Studio), enabling seamless data flow and consistent accessibility across multiple regions.
- Stakeholder Engagement and Global Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams in both the US and Europe to support data needs, provide insights, and align geosciences data strategies with broader business objectives. This role requires a high degree of collaboration and adaptability to work effectively with geographically diverse stakeholders, ensuring a seamless exchange of data insights and standards across all operational areas.
- Quality Assurance: Develop and implement rigorous data integrity standards, ensuring compliance and quality benchmarks are consistently met, driving enhanced data reliability for decision-making.
- Knowledge Leadership: Act as a data expert and resource for teams, driving the organization’s data expertise forward and promoting innovative use of geospatial and subsurface data, including ARCGIS and seismic data management within Petrel.
- Insight Generation: Lead the development of advanced reporting and data export processes, transforming raw data into actionable insights that inform key project and business decisions, with the flexibility to adapt to different regional needs.
- National Data Repository and Global Standards: Leverage expertise in data repositories such as NDR, Diskos, and EDIN, along with global standards (e.g., CRS management), to optimize data accessibility and accuracy for all regions involved.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in strategic subsurface data management, including systems such as Petrel, Studio, and ARCGIS.
- Proven expertise in developing and implementing scalable data management standards and workflows.
- Skilled in managing geospatial and seismic data, with a strong understanding of national and international data repositories (e.g., NDR, Diskos, GEUS).
- Proactive problem-solver with a strategic approach to enhancing data quality, integrity, and cross-regional alignment.
