Job Description
Senior Technical Data Analyst
As a Senior Technical Data Analyst you will be responsible translating business needs into requirements for the data engineering ETL and Reporting teams by analyzing complex datasets.
Reporting to the Senior Business Intelligence Manager, you will be part of the Product & Tech who work closely with business stakeholders, and data/report engineers to understand requirements, identify opportunities, and drive data-driven decision-making within the organization.
What you will do
- Develop and optimise Power BI and MicroStrategy reports with complex data Models and transformations
- To develop reports from multiple data sources including APIs, csv files, relational and non-relational databases, cloud storage buckets including S3 and GCP
- Collaborate with other teams within the organization and be able to devise the technical solution as it relates to the business & technical requirements
- Will be expected to mentor colleagues and be proactive in developing colleague skill sets to have a better understanding of reporting dashboards
- Maintain documentation for all processes implemented
- Adhere to and suggest improvements to coding standards, best practices, and contribute to the improvement of these best practices
Qualifications
Who you are
- Proven experience as a Data Business Analyst or in a similar role working with large volume data sets
- Experience working on data platform or warehousing projects
- Understanding of Financial, Compliance and Regulatory Reporting
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and languages (e.g. Excel and SQL).
- Knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g., MicroStrategy, Power BI).
- Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills to solve complex business problems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain positive working relationships.
- Experience in industries with a strong focus on data-driven decision-making (e.g., finance, marketing, healthcare).
