Job Description

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in data analysis or data science, including identifying trends, generating summary statistics, and drawing insights from quantitative and qualitative data.
  • 8 years of experience managing projects and defining project scope, goals, and deliverables.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in a quantitative discipline.
  • 12 years of experience in data analysis or data science.
  • Experience in a technical lead role in a Trust and Safety environment.
  • Experience with AI or machine learning systems.
  • Familiarity with one or more of the following languages: SQL, R, Python, or C++.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills with attention to detail in an ever-changing environment.

Trust & Safety team members are tasked with identifying and taking on the biggest problems that challenge the safety and integrity of our products. They use technical know-how, excellent problem-solving skills, user insights, and proactive communication to protect users and our partners from abuse across Google products like Search, Maps, Gmail, and Google Ads. You work globally and cross-functionally with Google engineers and product managers to identify and fight abuse and fraud cases at Google speed – with urgency. You will functionally lead team(s) and will be responsible for setting strategy and represent the team’s work, responsible for reducing policy violating activity across all Generative AI products for Search and Assistant. You will also enable the deployment of key defenses to stop abuse, and lead process improvement efforts to improve speed and quality of response to abuse. You will identify platform needs/influence enforcement capability design and enable professional/career success for your team.At Google we work hard to earn our users’ trust every day. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $208,000-$296,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Set strategic direction for the team working across multiple product launches.
  • Be the trusted leader with ability to pivot in the fast paced environment, coordinating and providing a consolidated view of risks and mitigation across the various pillars of the launch (e.g., policy, testing, features) to the cross-functional group and leadership.
  • Pressure test critical areas that are important for the business, drive clarity, and make high-level recommendations for critical business processes.
  • Perform on-call responsibilities on a rotating basis, including weekend coverage/holidays. Review or be exposed to sensitive or violation content as part of core role.
  • Lead a team responsible for delivering a safety strategy for generative AI launches. Ensure achievement of business outcomes and objectives across all dimensions.
