Site Autonomy Engineer – Tokyo-based Position

The Site Autonomy Engineer’s primary role will be the hands-on support of the operational fleet in the respective site location. The engineer will work intimately with the electromechanical and software elements of the system to ensure the success of the launch and the safety of autonomous driving solutions.

Job Responsibilities 職務概要
- Perform hardware maintenance and regular maintenance of autonomous vehicles
- Conduct sensor calibration, and data collection for autonomous vehicles
- Perform on-site software configuration, map development, and driving test for autonomous driving technology
- Respond to field issues and improvement requests by modifying maps, troubleshooting root causes, testing improvements and documenting solutions
- Collaborate with the engineering team to execute on-site testing for safety and passenger comfort
- Collaborate with the operation team to provide daily inspections and technical support
- Act as an escalation point at the call center for handling technical inquiries

Qualifications and Skills 応募資格とスキル
Required Qualifications: 必要な資格
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or relevant experience
- 3+ years of experience in wire harnesses and basic mechanical subsystems
- Experience with computing environments in Linux. Utilizing Git, or willingness to learn.
- Ability to think holistically about the entire system and prioritize safety in all tasks
- Ability to read and understand mechanical or electrical drawings
- Excellent Japanese verbal and written communication skills
- Experience working in an environment with international team members
- Possession of the Japanese driver’s license for regular automobiles

Preferred Qualifications 望ましい応募資格
- Possession of the driver’s license for middle-size or above vehicles
- Experience in programming using Python and C++, as well as knowledge of algorithms related to autonomous driving
- Proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical systems
- Experience in Agile development projects
