Job Description

Job Family: Software Development & Support (Digital) Travel Required: Up to 10% Clearance Required: Active Secret What You Will Do: Provide expert technical and managerial leadership for cloud infrastructure supporting Department of Defense and U. S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) mission objectives.

Define and implement cloud strategies that ensure secure, scalable, and resilient environments. Oversee provisioning, configuration, maintenance, optimization, and recovery of cloud systems while ensuring compliance with DoD cybersecurity and governance standards. Operate with significant decision-making authority impacting cloud implementation and financial management across USACE environments. Key Responsibilities: Establish cloud architecture goals and implementation plans aligned with DoD and USACE mission priorities.

Direct provisioning, configuration, and maintenance of cloud environments, including approved SaaS offerings. Monitor and manage cloud infrastructure changes, ensuring security, compliance, and operational continuity.

Lead optimization and recovery strategies to maintain high availability and disaster resilience. Serve as a subject matter expert in cloud automation, integration, and performance tuning. Interface with senior leadership to advise on cloud strategy decisions and modernization initiatives.

Oversee cloud financial management, cost optimization, and staffing for cloud engineering teams. Ensure compliance with DoD cybersecurity frameworks, NIST standards, and RMF guidelines throughout all cloud operations. What You Will Need: U.

S. citizenship.

Ability to obtain and maintain a Federal or DoD “Secret” security clearance; candidates must obtain approved adjudication of clearance prior to onboarding with Guidehouse. Must have at least 14 years of relevant experience. Extensive experience in cloud engineering and architecture within DoD, federal or similar environments.

Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, DoD-approved environments) and automation tools. Expertise in cloud security, compliance, and governance practices. Proven ability to lead technical teams and manage large-scale cloud implementations.

Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills for interfacing with senior management. What Would Be Nice To Have: AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate. Azure Solutions Architect Expert.

ITIL 4 Foundation Certified. Active “SECRET” or higher-level clearance preferred. Bachelors degree or higher from an accredited institution The annual salary range for this position is $149,000.
