As a Software Engineer II at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate Technology, you are part of an agile team that works to enhance, design, and deliver the software components of the firm’s state-of-the-art technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As an emerging member of a software engineering team, you execute software solutions through the design, development, and technical troubleshooting of multiple components within a technical product, application, or system, while gaining the skills and experience needed to grow within your role.
Job Responsibilities:
- Execute standard software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting.
- Write secure, high-quality code in at least one programming language with limited guidance.
- Design, develop, code, and troubleshoot while considering upstream and downstream systems.
- Apply knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle tools to enhance automation value.
- Use technical troubleshooting to solve basic complexity technical problems.
- Gather, analyze, and interpret large data sets to identify problems and aid decision-making.
- Learn and apply system processes and methodologies for secure, stable code development.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts with 3+ years of applied experience.
- Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
- Ability to code in one or more languages, preferably Python/PySpark; Scala is a plus.
- Experience with distributed computing frameworks like Apache Spark/PySpark.
- Strong knowledge of SQL querying.
- Experience with AWS services such as EMR, EC2, Lambda, and S3; knowledge of SQS, SNS, Athena, and Glue is a plus.
- Familiarity with machine learning concepts is beneficial.
- Experience across the entire Software Development Life Cycle.
- Exposure to agile methodologies, including CI/CD, application resiliency, and security
