As a Software Engineer II at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial and Investment Bank, you will be part of an agile team dedicated to enhancing, designing, and delivering the software components of the firm’s cutting-edge technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable manner. As an emerging member of the software engineering team, you will execute software solutions by designing, developing, and troubleshooting various components within a technical product, application, or system, while acquiring the skills and experience necessary to advance in your role.
Job responsibilities Executes standard software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshootingWrites secure and high-quality code using the syntax of at least one programming language with limited guidanceDesigns, develops, codes, and troubleshoots with consideration of upstream and downstream systems and technical implicationsApplies knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain to improve the value realized by automationApplies technical troubleshooting to break down solutions and solve technical problems of basic complexityGathers, analyzes, and draws conclusions from large, diverse data sets to identify problems and contribute to decision-making in service of secure, stable application developmentLearns and applies system processes, methodologies, and skills for the development of secure, stable code and systemsAdds to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills Formal training or certification on Site Reliability concepts and 2+ years applied experienceU. S. Citizen or Legal Permanent Resident having lived in the U. S.
continuously for the past 7 yearsStrong foundation in QA, including knowledge of testing types and best practicesExperience across the whole Software Development Life CycleSolid understanding of automation testing tools for writing high-quality test scripts for UI, API using Playwright, Selenium, and performance testing using JmeterDemonstrable ability to code in one or more languages – Python or Java Knowledge of database concepts and SQL for data validation and verificationStrong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and troubleshoot issuesExposure to agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and SecurityComfortable communicating cross-functionally and across management levels, both formally and informally Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills Familiarity with modern front-end technologiesExposure to cloud technologies
