Position overview:

 

As part of the EU & Africa IT Team the Solution Architect will work closely with colleagues from the manufacturing, shopfloor systems, infrastructure, security and compliance departments to lead the delivery of Industry 4.0 initiatives aimed at enhancing manufacturing outcomes. The ideal candidate will have a background in IT and manufacturing processes, with a focus on integrating and deploying advanced technologies to drive efficiency, quality, and productivity in our manufacturing operations.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Architectural Design: Develop and implement comprehensive architectural solutions that leverage Industry 4.0 technologies, including IoT, AI, machine learning, and automation, to optimise manufacturing processes.
  • Technology Integration: Evaluate and integrate new technologies and systems into existing manufacturing infrastructure, 
  • Data Management: Design and implement data management strategies to collect, analyse, and utilise manufacturing data for continuous improvement and decision-making.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including the advanced manufacturing and engineering teams, to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.
  • Compliance and Security: Ensure all solutions comply with company and industry standards, regulations, and security protocols.
  • Participates in multiple projects from conception through to solution deployment.
  • Ensuring documentation and procedures are maintained in accordance with internal practices (ITPM).

 

 

Key skills and Qualifications:

  • Software Development: familiarity in programming languages such as Java, Python, and C++.
  • Database Architecture: Knowledge of database design and management.
  • Cloud Computing: Experience with cloud platforms.
  • Experience developing data pipelines and ETL processes from disparate data sources.
  • Network and IT Security: Familiarity with computer networks and IT security management.
  • Systems Integration: Ability to integrate various systems and technologies
  • Business Analysis: Strong analytical skills to understand business processes and requirements.
  • Communication Skills: Effectively present complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Willingness and flexibility to travel within the role.
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Systems, Engineering or related field. 
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications such as TOGAF, PMP, or certifications in Industry 4.0 technologies.
  • Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of automotive manufacturing processes and challenges.
  • Experience integrating multiple data sources such as financial, HR, manufacturing, commercial, ERP (SAP/QAD)
  • Bachelor’s degree qualification in Computer Science, Electronics or Systems / Software Engineering 
  • Minimum of 3 years work experience within an integrated data engineering team or optimisation function 
  • Fluency in English language both written and verbal.
