WHO
we’re looking for:
We are
looking for a Sr. Analyst – Advanced Analytics who will be responsible for reporting to the Sr. Manager Retail Performance
Analytics (RPA) and conducting quantitative and qualitative analysis to synthesize
trends into actionable business insights and recommendations. You will need to
develop advance data mining and forecasting models to support channel-centric
and geography-based sales performance indicators for the multiple product
lines. The role requires extracting conceptual and advanced insights from large
and diversified datasets to drive sales and business growth.
Role
and Responsibilities:
- Apply expertise in quantitative and qualitative analysis to synthesize trends into actionable insights.
- Use experience with Machine Learning techniques, such as regression, classification, clustering, and neural networks, Naive Bayes. Outline business predictions to predict forecasts of demand and promote overall efficiency.
- Use Data science and optimization models – Customer Segmentation, Product Mix and Promotion Mix analysis, Multi-variate models, Turf Analysis.
- Source, combine, and synthesize large amounts of data from various data sources.
- Work cross-functionally to identify current organization gaps and emerging trends and recommend solutions based on qualitative analyses and market insights.
- Conduct Industry analysis: Analyze trends, patterns, early warnings, and forecasts.
- Utilize syndicated and other sources for periodical Retail industry assessment.
- Use effective visualization for users to interact with the forecasting model.
- Recommend strategic action plans for retail to drive sales across all product categories.
- Use presentation skills to be able to tell the story behind the numbers.
Required Experience and Education:
- 4+ years of experience in Retail Performance
analytics, Data analytics with data modelling. - Bachelor’s Degree in Business Analytics, Data
Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or similar field of study. - Master’s Degree preferred.
- Machine Learning – good knowledge of machine learning methods like Clustering, k-Nearest Neighbors, Decision Forests, Time series Forecasting.
- Data Wrangling – proficiency in handling imperfections in data.
- Good knowledge of Data Visualization Tools – Tableau.
Necessary Skills and Attributes:

Self-motivated
individual with the ability to thrive in a team-based or
independent environment. - Detail-oriented with strong
organization skills. - Ability to work in a
fast-paced environment. - Limited supervision
and the exercise of discretion. - Highly skilled in Excel and Python (Pandas, Scikit-Learn, TensorFlow, Keras).
- Highly skilled in Data Mining using Python.
- Good applied statistical skills, including knowledge of statistical tests, distributions, regression, maximum likelihood estimators.
- Problem-solving aptitude.
- Analytical mind and great business sense.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with demonstrated experience building and delivering presentations. Collaboration within Retail teams is a priority for this role.

Specific vision abilities required by the job include
ability to distinguish the nature of objects by using the
eye. Operate a computer keyboard and view a video display
terminal between 50% – 95% of work time, including prolonged
periods of time. Requires considerable (90%+) work utilizing
high visual acuity/detail, numeric/character distinction, and
moderate hand/finger dexterity.
Performs
work under time schedules and stress which are normally
periodic or cyclical, including time sensitive deadlines,
intellectual challenge, some language barriers, and project
management deadlines. May require working additional time
beyond normal schedule and periodic travel.
