We are seeking a Senior Business Data Analyst to join our HR Technology team. As a key player in our organization, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance our Workday human capital management system and drive business success. ​ 

This role can have a Hybrid or Remote work arrangement.  Candidates who live near one of our core office locations will have the expectation of working in an office 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday).   Candidates who do not live near an office will have a remote work arrangement, with the expectation of coming into an office as business needs arise. 

Candidate must be authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship

Responsibilities: ​ 

  • Act as a consultative liaison between the business, developers, and data & analytics teams, ensuring effective communication and alignment of objectives. ​

  • Work in an agile environment, adapting to changing requirements and collaborating with cross-functional teams. ​ 

  • Collaborate across multiple areas of HR, including Talent Management, Recruiting, Learning, Data & Analytics, Compensation, Operations, Benefits and the business to maximize technology investments and value. ​ 

  • Partner with external vendors on the implementation of system changes, ensuring seamless integration and minimizing downstream impacts to data and reporting. ​ 

  • Gather and document business requirements from HR domain leads and translate them into technical specifications. ​ 

  • Create and implement end-to-end testing plans, partnering heavily with the HR Data & Analytics team to consider downstream impacts and ensure data quality throughout the testing process. ​ 

  • Aid team members in elicitation efforts by selecting appropriate approaches and identifying gaps or areas to explore. ​ 

  • Select the appropriate tools and techniques based on project and assignment objectives. ​ 

  • Maintain data mapping documents, business matrix and/or other data design artifacts that define business data requirements and transformation rules​ 

  • Manage requirements for data integrations with internal and external vendors, ensuring compliance with data privacy regulations and maintaining clear records for auditing purposes. ​ 

  • Mentor team members to drive awareness of new approaches and improve execution of known techniques. ​ 

Qualifications: ​ 

  • In-depth knowledge of HR technology and systems such as Workday, Qualtrics and others is  required  ​ 

  • Experience with business requirements or data analysis, modern cloud-based data warehouse management, and reporting.​ 

  • Mature understanding of end-to-end impacts of source system configurations on data, reporting, integrations / webservice, analytics and BI       

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Data Analysis, Management Information Systems, or a related discipline strongly desired

  • Extensive knowledge of HR business area functions and familiarity with HR systems and technology alternatives. ​

  • Minimum of five years of solid, diverse work experience in an IT Agile (Scrum) environment ​ 

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. ​ 

  • Strong analytical ability, judgment, and management skills. ​ 

  • Ability to work effectively with HR clients, IT management, and staff. ​ 

  • Expert facilitator with a track record of successful collaboration. ​ 

  • Strong leadership skills to drive projects forward. ​ 

  • Effective presentation skills to convey complex information clearly. ​

  • Fluent in vendor management practices.

Compensation

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

$96,560 – $144,840
