What you will do
As a Senior Data Analyst, you will spend much of your time creating, cleaning, and merging datasets for our NWEA products and summative assessments that generate millions of test events each year. You will mentor junior data analysts and collaborate with other researchers and psychometricians in the organization. The work will require you to conduct your own statistical analysis and present findings to colleagues and write research reports in collaboration with others. Desired candidates will be able to use various statistical programs to manage and clean data, independently resolve issues, and conduct quality assurance. It is also desirable for you to have experience working with “Big Data” and cloud-based systems. You should have a passion for quantitative methods and managing data that brings a positive energy to the group while ensuring accurate and timely data for our team and our partners.
Responsibilities
- Lead statistical analysis and data management tasks for psychometric work.
- Design standard operating procedures for analysis and quality assurance.
- Create infrastructure for efficient workflows.
- Work with data in a variety of formats including CSV and database tables.
- Conduct statistical analyses such as descriptive statistics and multiple regression.
- Design and conduct quality assurance procedures to ensure correct data and accurate results.
- Document activities for data collection, analyses, and quality assurance.
- Write research reports individually or in collaboration with others.
- Present results to internal audiences.
- Conduct literature reviews.
- Attend statistical trainings and relevant professional development workshops.
- Perform advanced statistical programming of data analyses such as classical item analysis, differential item functioning, IRT calibration and equating, and linking.
- Mentor junior data analysts.
- Develop automated reports.
What you will need
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in mathematics, statistics, psychology, or education-related fields.
- 3+ years of experience in the field of educational assessment.
- Skilled at Python, R, SAS, or other programs to analyze data.
- Skilled at SQL, Postgres, Amazon Redshift, or other database systems.

Salary range: $90k – $110k.
