The Operations and Supply Chain Data Engineer at Collins Aerospace will play a pivotal role in designing, maintaining, and optimizing the data infrastructure for the Supply Chain Analytics team. This team is responsible for delivering highly accurate and reliable data to a diverse range of clients, from individual contributors handling day-to-day tasks to executive leaders shaping our strategic direction across the enterprise.
As the Data Engineer for the team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining our data pipelines, databases, and analytical systems. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, implement data solutions, and ensure the reliability and efficiency of our data infrastructure. You will not only work on optimizing the current landscape but also design and propose the next generation of data infrastructure.

What You Will Do:
- Build and maintain data warehouses, data pipelines, and other storage solutions to support Supply Chain Business Intelligence, reporting, and analytics needs.
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable data pipelines for extracting, transforming, and loading (ETL) data from various sources into our data warehouse.
- Work with data analysts to understand data requirements and implement solutions for data modeling, analysis, and visualization.
- Monitor data pipeline and system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement optimizations to improve reliability, scalability, and efficiency.
- Support leadership in identifying, designing, and implementing internal process improvements including re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, optimizing data delivery, and automating manual processes.
- Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends in data engineering and contribute ideas for continuous improvement of data infrastructure and processes.
- Work with peers to optimize performance/efficiency in reporting and analytics for supply chain and operations.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
- Proven experience in building and maintaining data pipelines with an understanding of data modeling, schema design, and data architecture and data validation. Solid understanding of ETL processes and tools like SSIS.
- Hands-on experience with data mining, data exploration, data analysis and visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc.) and the creation of supporting documentation.
- Familiarity with Python, and other technologies relevant to data science and analytics. Proficiency in T-SQL experience with Snowflake is a plus.
- Ability to prepare data for descriptive, prescriptive, and predictive modeling.
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Comprehensive quantitative skills, familiarity with statistical modeling, and forecasting.
- Knowledge and understanding of Supply Chain Management Principles
- Programming skills in Python, C# and .NET/MVC, Web Architecture is a plus. Experience with SAP, Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a bonus.
- The ability and willingness to coach and mentor junior team members on principles of Data Engineering.
- The ability to accurately estimate project tasks and timelines with excellent communication skills and ability to present to senior leadership.

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD – 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
