Position ResponsibilitiesLead data science initiatives from problem definition through production deployment; drive business impact through advanced analytics and predictive modelingDevelop predictive models for forecasting, optimization, and risk assessment using statistical and machine learning techniquesDesign and execute experiments (A/B testing, multivariate testing) to measure feature impact and validate model performanceAnalyze complex business problems across project management, resource planning, financial forecasting, and operational efficiency domainsDevelop advanced predictive analytics models for project cost overruns, resource optimization, cash flow prediction, and bid/win probability. Communicate insights effectively to technical and non-technical stakeholders including executives; create compelling visualizations and presentationsMentor junior data scientists and analysts; establish best practices for statistical analysis, model development, and reproducible researchPartner with engineering teams to ensure smooth transition of models from research to production; define monitoring metrics and success criteriaStay current with industry trends in data science, ML, and AI; evaluate new techniques and tools for potential applicationQualifications5-7 years of data science experience with demonstrated business impact through analytics and modeling in enterprise or SaaS environmentsStatistical expertise: Strong foundation in statistics, probability, experimental design, hypothesis testing, and regression analysisMachine learning: Proficiency in supervised/unsupervised learning, ensemble methods, time series forecasting, and model evaluationProgramming skills: Expert Python (pandas, scikit-learn, statsmodels) and SQL; experience with R is a plusData visualization: Strong skills in creating insightful visualizations using Tableau, Power BI, matplotlib, or PlotlyBig data tools: Experience with Spark, distributed computing, or processing large-scale datasetsBusiness acumen: Ability to translate business problems into analytical frameworks; track record of driving measurable business outcomesCommunication: Excellent presentation skills; ability to explain complex concepts to diverse audiences including senior leadershipBonus: Domain expertise in professional services, project-based businesses, government contracting, construction, or architecture/engineeringEducation: MS/PhD in Statistics, Data Science, Economics, Operations Research, or quantitative field preferred; exceptional BS candidates consideredCompensation InformationThe U.
