Job Summary
We are looking for a highly skilled Developer to spearhead our transition to a Microsoft-centric data and analytics platform. In this key role, you will drive the migration and optimization of our existing BI and analytics solutions, ensuring seamless integration and performance improvements. You will design, develop, and implement advanced data solutions using Microsoft Fabric, the Microsoft Power Platform, and related technologies, leveraging your expertise in data analytics, integration, and visualization to deliver scalable, impactful solutions.
Additionally, you will provide coaching and mentorship to the BI team, fostering growth and enhancing team capabilities in our new platform environment.
Job Description
Major Responsibilities

BI Migration: Lead the conversion of BI assets from Alteryx, Tableau, and WebFocus to Microsoft Fabric, ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and performance are maintained.

Development & Implementation: Design, develop, and maintain applications and data solutions using Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, and Synapse Analytics.

Collaboration: Work closely with business analysts, data engineers, and stakeholders to gather requirements and understand current BI workflows, translating them into effective solutions in Fabric.

Optimization: Identify and implement improvements to optimize data models, reduce processing time, and enhance the user experience within Microsoft Fabric.

Provide in-depth knowledge in the research, planning, design, documentation, development, testing and deployment of high quality software that meets business requirements. Define standards for team deliverables and processes

Solve complex problems. Take a new perspective on existing solutions to troubleshoot and support all deployed software

Identify and resolve complex issues with sustainable solutions. Provide advantages and disadvantages of potential solutions. Resolve issues and errors and improve performance and security as needed in a timely manner.

Assess the impact of specific business process. Identify and design systems/architecture/processes that enhance the business’ value. Translate the interrelationship of systems, and prioritization of issues based on impact to business and department.

Take ownership of deliverables and improve existing processes. Represent broader organizational initiatives when working across teams.

Prioritize primary assignments and ad-hoc work. Identify when deadlines are at risk and remediate to minimize schedule impacts. Manage multiple primary assignments.

Handle conflict across teams. Deliver feedback to team members. Communicate and collaborate with cross-functional teams including senior leaders and executives.

Participate in requirements gathering sessions with multiple stakeholders with minimal dependency from Lead or Manager; act as a primary contact for all domains.

Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead projects or project steps within a broader project or have accountability for ongoing activities or objectives.

Using appropriate technology capabilities, designs, writes, tests, debugs and documents new and modified processes.

Evaluate application and program modifications to ensure solutions align with business and technical requirements. Collaborate with end user and product owners to prototype, refine, test, and debug as needed.

Adhere to and enforce all company standards related to software development including security, performance and resiliency standards.

Contribute to and promote the continuous improvement of all software development practices. Engage in continuous improvement of one’s own skill set, both technical and non-technical.

Maintain an understanding of software development industry trends and best practices and promote their introduction to the company as applicable.

Consult with all software system stakeholders to provide any necessary technical expertise and analysis.

Develop a solid understanding of the company business domain and apply this understanding to all software development activities.

Comply with all company policies and procedures and governmental regulatory mandates.
Minimum Job Requirements
-
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field.
-
At least 4 years of experience in software development, data engineering, or business intelligence.

Experience applying project management methodologies.
-
Proven experience as a Microsoft Fabric Developer or similar role.

Proficiency in Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, and Azure Synapse Analytics.

Advanced SQL skills and experience with data modeling and ETL processes.
-
Familiarity with Microsoft Power Platform and Azure Data Lake.
-
Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions effectively.
-
Experience documenting complex processes and generating supporting diagrams.

Time management skills such as prioritizing/organizing and tracking details and meeting deadlines of multiple projects with varying completion dates.

Experience working with cross-functional teams and facilitating teams to identify and implement solutions to complex problems.

Ability to assess and initiate actions independently.

Experience and skills in influencing, leading and directing individuals in multiple functional areas.

Preferred Job Requirements

Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer or similar certification.

Experience with other Microsoft tools such as Power Apps and Power Automate.

Experience with migration projects, particularly from legacy BI tools to modern cloud-based solutions.

Knowledge of Python, R, or other programming languages is a plus.
