The Royal Caribbean Group’s Celebrity Cruise Lines Inc. brand has an exciting career opportunity for a full time Senior Manager of Strategic Data Analytics on the Consumer Insights & Business Strategy Team reporting to the Sr Director of Business Strategy & Consumer Insights.
This position sits on-site in Miami, FL.
Position Summary:
The Senior Manager of Strategic Data Analytics is key to the Consumer Insights & Business Strategy department. They provide guidance on key venues, new ships, destinations, and other opportunities that ultimately curate our guest experience and drive business performance. They will build the foundations of the newly formed Strategic Analytics team by consolidating information from both external sources and sources across the RCG portfolio to develop powerful views and insights on a regular basis. They will define the data roadmap for the organization to uncover current insights and opportunities, as well as develop the framework to leverage innovative technologies to drive value across the business.
The ideal candidate is a collaborative self-starter who uses innovation and intuition to creatively answer burning business questions that in the end inform the design of our future product portfolio.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead a small team to plan, map, and develop the organization’s data strategy.
- Employ guest-centric analytics and industry expertise to derive actionable insights that shape new and exciting experiences for guests.
- Utilize benchmarking, research, trend forecasting, performance analysis, and feedback to contribute to the development of future ships, modernization initiatives, and other strategic business opportunities.
- Apply findings from benchmarking, research, and performance analysis to identify and define key business opportunities that drive profitability and growth.
- Collaborate with the Consumer Insights team to develop tools and insights that capture the Voice of the Customer and Voice of the Crew, enhancing the overall understanding of guest preferences and needs.
- Conduct comprehensive guest behavioral research, including competitor benchmarking, venue utilization analysis, journey mapping, sentiment analysis, and industry-wide comparisons to gain a competitive edge.
- Support the organization with ad-hoc analysis in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, leveraging diverse data sources, databases, and desktop research.
- Develop and measuring Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that span the entire organization, providing valuable insights to drive strategic decision-making.
- Explore and integrating new data sources to enhance the organization’s ability to make data-driven decisions, optimizing business performance.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to create and share innovative analyses, updates, and opportunities that enrich the organization’s collective knowledge and drive continuous improvement.
- Present findings and analysis to senior-level executives within the brand and at RCG.
- Develop strategic partners with external vendors and stakeholders to continuously innovate the team’s capabilities and contributions.
- Will need to foster relationships across Royal Caribbean Group, especially, but not limited to, Revenue Management, Hotel Operations, Onboard Revenue, Data Sciences, IT, and the Royal Caribbean brand.
Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:
- Four-year Bachelor’s or equivalent required;
- A minimum of seven years of related analytics experience and/or training.
- Candidate must possess strong written and oral communication skills and be able to work effectively with all levels of personnel.
- Strong PC skills are required.
- Complex Problem Solving:
- Ability to identify the root cause of complex problems, develop options and recommend solutions.
- Strategic Analytics:
- Data combined with critical thinking to identify strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities.
- Presentation:
- Strong aptitude to present complex data analyses into simple, concise, and engaging stories that bring insights to the forefront.
- Project Management:
- Collaborate with various teams to align and influence strategic decision-making process.
- Strong Attention to Detail:
- Meticulous in ensuring data and insights presented are accurate.
- Technical Skills:
- Basic SQL, Power BI, Advanced Excel and PowerPoint required.
