About the role:
Gartner Analysts are industry thought leaders who create must-have research, market predictions and best practices for a broad range of world-leading organizations. A Senior Principal dives deep into research and analysis of complex datasets to identify problems and develop strategies that help clients solve problems and improve their company’s performance. A Senior Principal is also a trusted source of advice for clients, reinforcing Gartner’s value daily by engaging clients via in-person meetings, virtual meetings, sales support visits and events to discuss complex client challenges and offer appropriate recommendations. This includes writing about, presenting and advising organizations about market trends, vendors, services, governance and best practices in analytics & AI.

What you will do:

Create high-quality, clear, actionable, “must-have research” content in BI, analytics, AI and data science. Specific focus areas will include strategy, business value, best practices, market trends, technologies and vendors.

Research, analyze and predict market trends and shifts and provide clients, including vendors, with actionable insights based on market research and positioning.

Conduct research and analysis in Analytic & AI topics and adjacent areas while maintaining a view across a broad spectrum of the market, and produce innovative, thought-leading, impactful, analytically-deep, fact-based research.

Apply critical thinking skills to de-construct and frame challenging client questions.

Provide clients and prospects with actionable analytics & AI-centric advice via virtual or face-to-face interactions.

Create and deliver presentation materials for Gartner events, industry and professional association conferences, and client briefings.

Provide high-quality and timely research content for peer review.

Actively participate in innovation, ideation and research efforts to discuss research issues; Collaborate effectively with peers in the analytics & AI research community.
What you will need:
-
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; Graduate degree preferred.

8-10 years of relevant Analytics & AI experience. Will previously have held a leadership role within technology or business.

Applicable experience in an industry discipline and deep knowledge of a the CDAO, Head of Analytics and AI responsibilities or related business roles, as well as a market and industry perspective. This includes understanding technology and business needs, including user strategies in specific areas and markets.

Strong written and verbal proficiency, analytical and presentation skills; ability to engage clients and respond effectively to questions.

Demonstrate superior analytical skills while applying conceptual models, and recognizing patterns while drawing and defending conclusions.

Ability to work independently, while being intrinsically motivated to collaborate across teams and support the workflow of others, in a multicultural global team.

Strong organizational skills; ability to work under tight deadlines and produce high-quality deliverables.

Demonstrate executive presence; can immediately establish credibility with executives and additional stakeholders.

Subject matter expertise; Comfortable presenting at large and small-scale speaking engagements.

Knowledge of other languages besides English a plus (e.g., German, French, Brazilian Portuguese, Spanish, Chinese, Japanese)
