About the team: As part of the IT group, we are responsible for executing our enterprise data strategy which emphasizes data management maturity, fosters a robust data culture, and architects a best-in-class enterprise data platform. We have the ultimate goal to provide trusted data and insights at scale which enable corporate and functional data-driven decision making. We are fueled by organic innovation, internal collaboration and adoption of data visualization, data management, reporting automation, AI/ML and integration tools. We leverage best practices and alignment through our Enterprise Data Community to deliver speed to insight, scale, control and enablement. The team is distributed across the United States and India and is composed of data engineers, data analysts, visualization developers, and infrastructure specialists.
What You’ll Do
Product Data Champion:
- Gain a deep understanding of the company’s product offerings and their capabilities to effectively analyze product data and inform decision-making.
- Become the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for any product data (organizational data, master data, and transaction data).
- Analyze and comprehend the product data architecture, focusing on its intricacies and the interactions between multiple inbound and outbound systems.
- Understand the data challenges faced by different analytics teams and proactively solving for their data needs and creating a single source of truth.
- Align on single data definitions that are consistently used across business teams within Zscaler, ensuring uniformity and accuracy in data interpretation.
Collaborate Cross-Functionally:
- Data requirement gathering to understand Product Analytics team’s data needs and esure robust and scalable data solutions are implemented.
- Work closely with product engineering teams, product managers, product pricing teams and data engineering teams to drive desired outcomes and ensure alignment on data initiatives
- As part of the Enterprise Data team, establish a feedback loop between Data Engineering, Product Engineering Team and Product Pricing Teams.
- This individual plays a crucial role within the product ecosystem, comprehending the data challenges encountered by Product Analytics Teams and infrastructure challenges faced by Product Engineering Teams. They develop and implement strategies to mitigate risks and identify optimal solutions for progression.
Data Quality Assurance:
- Implement robust data quality assurance processes and regularly monitor data for accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
- Identify gaps in data pipelines and work proactively to address and resolve them, ensuring seamless data flow and integrity.
- Identify, analyze, and reduce the number of data defects. Collaborate with the data engineering team to establish a solid foundation for trusted data.
- Suggest and implement Data Quality checks for improving the data quality and trust among various stakeholders.
Roadmaps:
- Develop comprehensive roadmaps and vision for product data, aligning with the overall business strategy and goals
- Lead governance calls with Product teams to drive alignment, timely implementation of the roadmaps and lift any roadblocks.
Assist product teams in adopting the latest technologies, providing guidance and support for their implementation.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of data processes, methodologies, and findings to ensure transparency and knowledge sharing.
- Leading and mentoring junior analysts and other team members to promote data literacy and best practices across the organization.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience as Data Analyst or related role in a SaaS organization.
- Strong experience with Product Related Data and KPIs, working with Product Engineering and Product Managers.
- Advanced Knowledge in SQL and ability to perform complex modeling with large volumes of data.
- Have experience of leading or mentoring a team of analysts in the past roles.
- Good level of experience with any industry standard BI/Data Visualization tools like Tableau, QlikView, CRM Analytics or similar BI tools is a plus.
- Strong familiarity with data modeling, ETL and data warehouse concepts.
- Strong capacity to lead and execute on multiple projects simultaneously including prioritization discussions with business and regular communication on project progress.
- Ability to work in a fast paced organization with changing priorities with market trends and organizational needs.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to effectively articulate thoughts and ideas.
- Experience with Python, Dbt or similar a plus but not mandatory
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative major (Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering or related field)
