We’re responsible for CommBank’s key analytics capabilities and work to create world-leading capabilities for analytics, information management and decisioning.  

 

You will be a part of a passionate team that works Risk Treasury Finance Data Platform, Ab Initio. 

 

We support our people with the flexibility to balance where work is done with at least half your time each month connecting in office. We are interested in hearing from people who:

  • Are comfortable working across the full lifecycle of agile projects (ideation through implementation) 
  • Are happy working as an individual contributor that pushes our analytics platforms forward, delivering increasing levels of self-service, automation and reduced operational risk
  • Have an excellent understanding of data structures including time variant and dimensional models, algorithms, operating systems, and/or distributed systems. 
  • Have experience in implementation of data platforms at Enterprise level
  • Have previously conducted Research and Development of new distributed computing technology 
  • Are highly experienced in design and development of Big Data , Ab Initio and Data warehouse applications 
  • Are confident in leading and guiding in building group data products from scratch, by integrating large sets of data from hundreds of internal and external sources 

 

Tech skills 

  • We use a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks. We don’t expect you to know them all but having significant experience and exposure with some of these (or equivalents) will set you up for success in this team.
  • Scala, ANSI/ISO SQL, or Ab Initio graph along with backend coding expertise in Java and Python
  • Advanced understanding of Ab Initio Products including GDE, TFW and TDM  
  • Hadoop / Teradata  platform, using Spark , TCF and various ETL frameworks 
  • Cloud migration experience ideally using AWS (Snowflake, etc.)
  • Realtime streaming technologies, Kafka is desirable.
  • Advanced understanding of Unix Shell Scripting.
