We are responsible for CommBank’s key analytics capabilities and work to create world-leading capabilities for analytics, information management and decisioning.
We are seeking people who
- Are Passionate about building next generation data platforms and data pipeline solution across the bank.
- Are Enthusiastic, be able to contribute and learn from wider engineering talent in the team.
- Have got proven track record of Agile delivery including leading and working on End to end delivery of project.
- Have ability to lead, direct, coach and guide software developers.
- Drive pragmatic and fit for purpose solutions of high technical quality.
- Are Pro-actively looking for ways to provide faster feedback, including uplift in test automation maturity in the squad.
- Constantly thinking creatively and breaking boundaries to solve complex data problems.
We are also interested in hearing from people who
- Have Experience with building spark-based pipelines.
- Experience working with Cloudera Data Platform
- Have experience with large migration programs and automating things to scale up migrations from on-prem to cloud
- Have Knowledge of data warehousing solutions like Amazon Redshift, Google BigQuery, or Snowflake.
- Have Understanding of data modeling, schema design, and data architecture principles.
- Have Knowledge of data governance practices, data privacy regulations, and security measures.
- Have Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools for CI/CD (e.g., Github, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes).
Technical skills
Essential:
- Proficient in programming using Advanced SQL
- Experience with Hadoop ecosystem (HDFS, MapReduce, YARN).
- Proficiency in Spark for large-scale data processing.
- Deep understanding and experience (preferred) with Kafka for real-time data streaming.
- Deep understanding of handling complex file formats and structures
- Deep understanding of traditional data warehouse concepts (Facts/Dims, normalization) and
- event driven data architecture
