Pathology Lab Development consists of four key capabilities: Assay and Reagent Development, System Development and Integration, Hardware Development and Software Development.
Area of focus within the Assay and Reagent Development team allow for deeper focus and agility. Combined mechanical and electrical engineering under Hardware Development allows for better systems thinking. Subject matter expertise under the System Development Leads team allows sharing of practices, learning, and growth.
The Opportunity
Utilizes extensive and diverse knowledge of systems design principles to drive quality and reliability in complex assignments. Capable of assuming a lead role as a systems engineer or system architect for intricate research and development endeavors. Responsibilities encompass defining PI objectives for agile planning in collaboration with product owners and lifecycle teams, and providing clear direction to prioritize development tasks.
Acts as a systems engineering expert throughout the design process, contributing to concept generation, design reviews, development, and testing to evaluate performance against specifications and requirements. Conducts reliability analysis and testing, manages requirements, and assesses system interactions. Makes independent decisions ensuring alignment with organizational and project stakeholders.
Contributes to the development of manufacturing processes and troubleshoots issues to identify root causes and engineer potential solutions. Undertakes various assigned engineering tasks to advance Systems Engineering methodologies.
Responsibilities
- You will provide systems engineering/integration expertise to assigned projects.
- You will work closely with technical and project teams to ensure projects are delivered timely meeting quality and reliability requirements.
- You will perform activities like Reliability analysis, writing test protocols and reports, verification and validation testing, reliability testing. Validate and apply tools needed for efficient systems engineering (System Modeling tools for example).
- Monitors work to ensure quality-reliability and continuously promote Quality First Time.
- You will continually engage in initiatives for enhancing systems engineering techniques like Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), Reliability Modeling, Artificial Intelligence and Test automation to name a few.
- Apply SAFe Agile practices to work. Be part of Agile team and focus on delivering value.
- Provides technical leadership to development projects.
- Continuously communicate status updates, challenges and key decisions with supervisory management and project stakeholders.
Who You Are
- You have a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Science or equivalent in a directly related discipline.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s or higher degree in engineering disciplines is preferred.
- 8 years of related engineering / medical device experience is preferred.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Tucson is $109,600 – $203,500. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
