We are now looking for a
Summer Trainee, Data Engineer
As a Data Engineer Trainee, you will have the opportunity to work closely with our experienced team of data engineers, gaining hands-on experience in developing data products with state-of-the-art cloud tech stack to enable generating actionable insights of data. This role is tailored for students with a strong foundation in data analysis and processing, software engineering, cloud infrastructure and a passion for learning more of the field.
As a key member of the Data and Analytics team within KONE IT, you’ll be based at our Espoo office in Finland, with the added benefit of a flexible hybrid work arrangement strengthened via regular face-to-face interactions at the Espoo office. The trainee period spans between 3-5 months based on your availability.
As a Trainee, you’ll get to
- Collaborate with Data Engineers, Product Owners, and other cross-functional partners develop data products.
- Actively participate in agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups and retrospectives.
- Actively participate to the development, testing, deployment of data products as well as operations.
What we look for
- Pursuing a master’s degree in computer science, software engineering or business analytics, or any related field.
- Hands-on development experience with SQL and Python.
- Basic knowledge in data modelling.
- Basic knowledge in cloud infrastructure.
- Basic knowledge in software development lifecycle management and CI/CD.
- Eagerness to learn and explore new methods, technologies and learn data.
- Proficient in written and spoken English.
- Bonus points for familiarity with any of the tools in our tech stack: AWS, Gitlab/GitHub Databricks, Airflow, DBT, AWS CDK and Terraform.
