Tech Lead – Advisory Technology (Generative AI Focus)

Location: UK (Flexible) Type: Rolling Contract

A leading professional services firm is seeking a Technical Lead to support its Advisory Technology function through a major transformation programme. This role is central to the industrialisation of generative AI tools and their deployment across the business. You’ll work at the intersection of strategy, design, and delivery-driving technical excellence and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the newly established Technical Design Authority (TDA), including solution triage and technical risk oversight.
  • Act as the primary liaison between Advisory Technology and project delivery teams.
  • Deputise for the Advisory CTO and report on technical delivery progress.
  • Co-develop the AI strategy and roadmap with senior leadership.
  • Ensure technical solutions meet firm-wide standards and are scalable, secure, and sustainable.
  • Support engagement leaders in managing technical delivery risks across a portfolio of AI-driven projects.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Strong experience with Azure cloud services.
  • Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code tools (eg, Terraform).
  • Scripting skills in PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
  • Expertise in designing and optimizing generative AI models, including prompt engineering for LLMs (eg, GPT, BERT).
  • Deep understanding of AI/ML algorithms and scalable cloud deployment.
  • Experience leading technical design decisions and running TDAs.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and delivery planning capabilities.
  • Passion for automation, cloud architecture, and secure-by-design principles.

Desirable Qualifications

  • BSc in Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, or related field (MSc or PhD preferred).
  • Advanced certifications in AI/ML, cloud computing, or data engineering.
