Role: Technical Lead – Applied AI

Location: London (Hybrid working – 3 days in office)

The Tech Lead within Applied AI will be responsible for driving key technology initiatives and ensuring the successful implementation of AI capabilities. The role requires a deep understanding of backend system engineering, AI platforms, cloud infrastructure, and adherence to data protection regulations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Lead the technology strategy and implementation for our clients Applied AI department
•  Supporting generative AI platform
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to gather requirements, develop technical specifications, and deliver high-quality code in an Agile environment.
• Design and maintain the backend infrastructure for our clients generative AI platform, optimising performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Implement workflow orchestration solutions using Python and Terraform to streamline and automate processes within the AI program.
•  Utilise DevOps best practices to continuously integrate, test, and deploy code updates, minimizing downtime and maximizing efficiency.
• Azure platform experience to build and manage cloud-based infrastructure, optimizing for cost, performance, and security.
•  Conduct code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and foster a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, ensuring timely resolution and minimal impact on the AI program.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for the backend systems, ensuring adherence to relevant data protection and privacy regulations, as well as internal policies and procedures.

Requirements

Skills and experience required for this role:

• Python development background and familiarity with JavaScript
• Strong understanding and experience with version control systems like Git
• Expertise in Python web frameworks such as Flask or FastAPI
• Knowledge of relational databases, such as SQL Server
• Experience working in a cloud environment, preferably Microsoft Azure
• Ability to write unit tests and conduct Test-Driven Development (TDD)
• Experience working with CI/CD pipelines for automated build, testing, and deployment.
• Up to date knowledge of developments in AI, and an ability to discuss industry updates with senior stakeholders
• Ability to write clear and comprehensive documentation for code and APIs.
