We, the BMW Group, offer you an interesting and varied working student occupation in the area of Research & Development. The department is responsible for product data management at BMW AG. 

 

 

What awaits you? 

  • Product Data Management (PDM) aims to create consistent data structures and systems that enable us to ensure high product data quality for all vehicles. 
  • An essential part of the product data management is the structure of the BOM, the engineering change management and the product master data.
  • You will assist in Data Engineering tasks such as the design, creation and interpretation of data evaluations, business reports and dashboards.
  • You derive technical solutions from professional use cases. 
  • Additionally, you will work in machine learning tasks involving the prediction of certain key parameters during the creation of a new part number. Therefore you will design, improve and implement machine learning algorithms and models, using e.g. natural language processing, reinforcement learning and computer vision.
  • You get to develop and maintain software tools and libraries for machine learning and work collaboratively with other teams to integrate solutions into our products. 
  • You will also participate in the development and evaluation of tools that harness the power of generative models such as ChatGPT, Microsoft Co-Pilot, Midjourney, and DALL-E. 

 

What should you bring along? 

  • Studies in Business Administration, Computer Science, and Mathematics ideally with a focus on Data Analytics or a comparable degree program.
  • Team and communication skills. 
  • First practical experience in Data Analytics and Machine Learning. 
  • Knowledge of working with visualization tools (preferably QlikSense, Tableau, Palantir or Power BI). 
  • Knowledge in Python programming language. 
  • Knowledge in Python libraries including Keras, Numpy, PyTorch, Pandas would be helpful. 
  • Good skills in English or German
